Works with the detailed Consolidated Account Statement from CAMS and KFintech, and with a distributor's valuation report, even one saved as pictures. Plan costs cover every fund with both a regular and a direct plan and at least a year of NAVs.

How to get your statement

Request a Consolidated Account Statement (detailed)from CAMS or KFintech using the email address registered with your funds. You choose a password when you request it, and the PDF arrives by email within a few minutes. It lists every fund you hold across fund houses. A valuation report from your distributor also works, but it has no transactions, so the returns shown are the report's own.

Regular and direct plans

Every mutual fund comes in two versions holding the same portfolio. A regular plan is bought through a distributor and includes their commission in its yearly expenses. A direct plan is bought from the fund house and leaves that commission out, so it returns a little more each year.

How the cost is measured

We compare the published NAVs of each regular plan and its direct twin over the last three years. Because the portfolios are identical, the gap in their returns is the extra cost. That yearly gap, applied to what you hold today, is the rupee figure shown.
